London Borough of Harrow Bin Collection Dates

The London Borough of Harrow collects food waste and recycling every week, and general waste and garden waste on alternate fortnightly weeks. Most households have four collections in a fortnight covering all bin types. The green or grey general waste bin accepts non-recyclable household waste such as nappies, broken crockery, polystyrene and soft plastics. The blue recycling bin accepts paper and card, plastic bottles, tubs and trays, glass bottles and jars, and metal tins and cans — please rinse items and leave them loose. The black food caddy accepts all cooked and raw food scraps including meat, fish, dairy, bread, fruit and vegetables. Line your caddy with a compostable liner. Garden waste is collected in a brown bin and accepts grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings and small branches. Garden waste is a subscription service — you must register with the council to receive collections. Bins must be out by 7 am on your collection day. Report a missed collection within 24 hours at harrow.gov.uk. Collections may be adjusted around bank holidays — check the council website for confirmed alternative dates.
