What WhenBin is
WhenBin is a free tool that helps UK residents look up their bin, recycling and garden waste collection dates by postcode. It's an independent personal project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any council or government body — we simply retrieve and display publicly available collection information from each council's own systems.
Accuracy disclaimer
Collection dates on WhenBin are fetched from your council's own systems at the time of your search, but councils can and do change schedules — especially around bank holidays or local disruption — sometimes without updating the systems we rely on. If your council's official announcement differs from what WhenBin shows, the council's announcement takes priority. We do our best to keep results accurate but can't guarantee it, and we're not liable for missed collections, related charges or fines, or any other loss arising from reliance on this site.
Acceptable use
WhenBin is intended for personal, household use — looking up your own bin collection dates. You agree not to scrape, crawl or run bulk automated queries against the site beyond normal personal use, and not to do anything that could damage, disable or overburden it. Third-party links
WhenBin links to third-party websites, including council websites and gov.uk pages. We don't control these sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
Advertising
WhenBin displays advertising through Google AdSense, which helps keep it free to use. Advertising cookies are only set with your consent — see our Privacy Policy for how advertising and cookies work here.
Availability
We aim to keep WhenBin available and working well, but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The site may be unavailable at times for maintenance, technical issues, or because a council's own system is down or has changed.
Limitation of liability
WhenBin is provided "as is" and free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including missed bin collections, related fines or charges, and any indirect or consequential loss.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of WhenBin after changes are made means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
