The problem we're solving
Every UK local authority has its own website, its own format and its own way of presenting bin collection data. Some councils require you to create an account. Others bury the information inside PDFs. Many change their schedules for bank holidays without clear communication.
There is no single place a UK resident can go to find their bin day — until now. WhenBin unifies council waste collection data into one simple postcode search.
How it works
When you enter a postcode, WhenBin identifies your local council and pulls your collection schedule directly from the council's own data systems — not a third-party database, not a cached copy. The same data your council uses, presented clearly in seconds.
Coverage
We currently cover 8 councils across England, with new councils added every week. Our goal is full UK coverage — all 359 local authorities — so that every household in England, Scotland and Wales can find their bin day on WhenBin.
Why it's free
WhenBin is and will always be free to use. We believe access to basic local council information shouldn't require navigating complex council websites or creating accounts. We're funded by a small number of non-intrusive partnerships. We will never sell your data, never require registration, and never put bin dates behind a paywall.
Add WhenBin to your website
Parish councils, estate agents, local news sites and community groups can embed WhenBin's postcode search on their own site — free. Every visitor gets instant access to their bin dates without leaving your site.
