The London Borough of Bexley covers a large area of south-east London, including Bexleyheath, Welling, Sidcup, Erith, Belvedere, Thamesmead East, Crayford, Barnehurst and the historic village of Bexley. The green wheelie bin collects non-recyclable general waste fortnightly, on the same day as the blue lidded bin. It is for household waste that cannot be recycled — please check whether items can be placed in the blue or white bin before using the green bin. The brown caddy collects food waste weekly. All food scraps are accepted, including cooked and uncooked meat, fish, dairy products, fruit, vegetables, bread and tea bags. Compostable caddy liners are available from the council. Bexley also offers an optional garden waste subscription service for £82 per year per bin. Subscribers receive a brown wheelie bin for garden waste, collected fortnightly on the same day as the white lidded wheelie bin. Garden waste collections run year-round.
