Croydon Council Bin Collection Dates

Croydon Council collects general rubbish (black bin) fortnightly and uses a distinctive three-stream recycling system, keeping glass, plastics and cans separate from paper and card. The green bin accepts glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and containers, food and drink cans, and cartons — collected fortnightly. The blue box accepts paper and cardboard only — also collected fortnightly, but on a different week to the green bin. Food waste is collected every week in a small caddy. Garden waste is available on an optional subscription basis. The black bin takes all non-recyclable household waste including food-contaminated packaging, nappies, polystyrene and anything that cannot go in the recycling containers. All recycling should be clean and dry; do not bag items in either the green bin or the blue box. If your collection day falls on a bank holiday, Croydon will typically collect on the next working day. Check the council website or your bin day results page for bank holiday amendments.
