London Borough of Barnet Bin Collection Dates

The London Borough of Barnet collects general waste (black bin), food waste (brown caddy) and mixed recycling (blue bin) on a weekly basis across the borough. All three collections typically fall on the same day each week, making it easy to remember when to put your bins out. The blue recycling bin accepts paper, card, glass bottles and jars, cans and tins, plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays — all items should be clean, dry, and loose (not in bags). The brown caddy is for all food waste including cooked and uncooked food, fruit and vegetable peelings, meat, fish, bones, tea bags and coffee grounds. Use compostable bin liner bags to keep the caddy clean. Garden waste is an optional subscription service. Collection dates are not currently available through this tool — residents can sign up for email collection reminders at streetscenedatateam@barnet.gov.uk. If your collection falls on a bank holiday, Barnet Council will advise on revised arrangements via their website and social media. For missed collections or to report a problem, call 020 8359 7777.
