London Borough of Bexley Bin Collection Dates

The London Borough of Bexley covers south-east London, including Bexleyheath, Welling, Sidcup, Erith, Belvedere, Thamesmead East, Crayford, Barnehurst and the historic village of Bexley. Bexley operates a five-stream kerbside collection system: food waste weekly, recycling (paper and card) and general waste fortnightly on the same week, and recycling (plastics and glass) fortnightly on the alternating week. The blue lidded bin collects paper and card fortnightly — newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes, envelopes and paper bags. Flatten cardboard before placing it in the bin. The white lidded bin collects plastics, cans and glass fortnightly on the alternating week — plastic bottles, pots, tubs, trays, food tins, drink cans, glass bottles and jars, and foil. Rinse all items and leave them loose, no bags. The green bin collects non-recyclable general waste fortnightly on the same week as the blue bin. The brown food caddy is collected weekly and accepts all cooked and uncooked food scraps including meat, fish, dairy, fruit, vegetables, bread and tea bags — compostable liners are available from the council.

A garden waste subscription (approximately £82/year) gives you a brown wheelie bin for grass clippings, leaves, prunings and small branches, collected fortnightly on the same week as the white bin. Check your results page — if not subscribed, the garden bin will not appear.
