Cheshire West and Chester Council Bin Collection Dates

Cheshire West and Chester Council serves around 160,000 households across the historic city of Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, Frodsham, Winsford, Neston and surrounding rural communities. Collections run on a fortnightly alternating schedule — the black bin one week, both recycling bins the following week. Garden waste is available by paid subscription. The black bin is for non-recyclable household waste — polystyrene, nappies, crisp packets and broken crockery. The lid must close fully. Cheshire West operates twin-stream recycling: the blue bin accepts paper, cardboard, tins, cans and aerosols; the red bin accepts glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and cartons. Both recycling bins are collected on the same day, on the alternate fortnight to the black bin. Leave items clean, empty and loose — no bags. The brown garden bin (paid subscription) is collected fortnightly, accepting grass cuttings, leaves, hedge clippings, twigs and small branches.
