Cumberland Council was formed in April 2023 by merging the former districts of Carlisle, Allerdale and Copeland. The council covers a large area of north-west England including Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, Maryport, Cockermouth, Cleator Moor, Egremont, Wigton and Brampton. Most properties receive three kerbside collections on a fortnightly alternating cycle. On Recycling Week the blue bin collects mixed recycling. On Waste Week the grey domestic waste bin and green garden waste bin are collected together. Bins should be at the kerbside by 7am.
