Ealing Council Bin Collection Dates

Ealing Council operates a weekly collection service using bags rather than wheelie bins, making it one of the most frequent collection services in London. Black rubbish bags are collected every week for general household waste — anything that cannot be recycled or composted. Clear recycling bags are collected weekly and accept a wide range of materials: paper, card, glass bottles and jars, cans and tins, plastic bottles, pots, tubs, trays and cartons. All items should be clean and dry — do not put recyclables in black bags. A food box collects all kitchen food waste weekly including cooked and uncooked food, meat, fish, dairy, bread, fruit and vegetable peelings. Use the small kitchen caddy and compostable liner bags provided. Ealing is one of the few London boroughs to collect all three waste streams — rubbish, recycling and food — on the same day each week, though collection days vary by street. Garden waste is collected fortnightly as a paid subscription service in reusable sacks. If your collection falls on a bank holiday, Ealing Council will usually collect on the next working day.
