Haringey Council manages household waste and recycling collections from around 110,000 households across Wood Green, Tottenham, Hornsey, Crouch End, Harringay, Muswell Hill, Seven Sisters, Stroud Green and Stamford Hill. Haringey operates four collections. The green recycling bin is collected weekly and accepts paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, food and drink cans, and plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays — clean and loose, lids closed, no bags. The grey general waste bin is collected fortnightly for non-recyclable household waste — bag waste before putting it in the bin. The teal food caddy (23L) is collected weekly and accepts all cooked and uncooked food waste — meat, fish, dairy, fruit, vegetables and bread; no packaging. The brown garden waste bin is collected weekly for subscribed properties only, accepting grass clippings, leaves, hedge trimmings, prunings, weeds and small branches.
