Haringey Council manages household waste and recycling collections across the London Borough of Haringey, covering areas including Wood Green, Tottenham, Hornsey, Crouch End, Harringay, Muswell Hill, Seven Sisters, Stroud Green and Stamford Hill. Collections are operated by Veolia on behalf of the council. Haringey operates four separate bin and caddy collections. The green bin for mixed recycling is collected every week and accepts a wide range of materials including paper, card, glass bottles and jars, food and drink cans, and plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays. Lids must be fully closed and materials should be clean and loose — not in bags. The grey bin for general household waste is collected fortnightly and should only contain non-recyclable waste that cannot go in any other bin. Bagging general waste before putting it in the grey bin is recommended. The brown bin for garden waste is collected every week, but only for properties that have an active garden waste subscription. The service accepts grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings, prunings, weeds, flowers and small branches. If you do not have a garden waste subscription, the brown bin will not appear on your collection schedule. Contact Haringey Council to sign up. All properties receive a small 23-litre teal food caddy for food waste, which is collected every week. The caddy accepts all food waste whether cooked or raw, including meat, fish, dairy, fruit, vegetables and bread. No packaging of any kind should be placed in the caddy. Collection days vary by street and area. Most properties collect on a weekday, but your specific day depends on your address and collection round. Even properties in the same postcode can fall on different routes, so it is always best to check using your full postcode rather than relying on a neighbour's schedule. Haringey covers postcodes in the N4, N8, N10, N15, N17 and N22 areas, as well as parts of surrounding postcode districts. Properties on the borough boundary may fall within neighbouring councils including Barnet, Enfield, Waltham Forest, Islington or Hackney. Bins and caddies should be placed at the kerbside by 6am on your collection day and brought back in before the end of the day. Haringey Council collects on all bank holidays except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Enter your postcode below to find your collection dates.
