Milton Keynes City Council Bin Collection Dates

Milton Keynes City Council provides weekly kerbside collections for refuse (grey lid bin) and food and garden waste (green lid bin), with two separate fortnightly recycling collections — a red lid bin for paper and card, and a blue lid bin for glass, metal and plastic. The red and blue recycling bins alternate on different fortnightly schedules, so there is a recycling collection every week. The grey lid bin accepts non-recyclable household waste that cannot be composted or recycled. The red lid bin takes paper, cardboard and cartons — flatten boxes and remove packaging tape. The blue lid bin takes glass bottles and jars, metal cans and tins, plastic bottles, pots and tubs — rinse items and leave them loose, not bagged in plastic. The green lid bin accepts grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings, weeds and small branches, as well as food waste including cooked and raw scraps, meat, fish, bread and dairy. You can line your food caddy with a compostable liner or newspaper. Bins must be out by 7 am on your collection day. If a collection is missed, report it within 24 hours using the Milton Keynes Council website.
