Shropshire Council Bin Collection Dates

Shropshire Council provides waste collection services to approximately 130,000 households across one of England's largest unitary authorities, covering Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Church Stretton and the many towns, villages and rural communities throughout the county. General waste (grey wheelie bin) and recycling (green bin) are collected fortnightly on alternate weeks — they are never collected on the same day. Check your schedule below to confirm which week applies to your address. The green recycling bin accepts paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, tubs and trays, food and drink tins and cans. All items should be clean, dry and loose — not in bags. Garden waste is collected fortnightly as a paid subscription service. The brown bin accepts grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings, weeds and small branches. Only properties that have subscribed will have their brown bin collected. Visit shropshire.gov.uk to subscribe or check your subscription status. If your bin is not collected, report it online at shropshire.gov.uk or call 0345 678 9007. Bins should be placed at the kerbside by 7 am on your collection day. Household Waste Recycling Centres are located at Battlefield (Shrewsbury), Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Market Drayton, Oswestry, Whitchurch and other sites across the county — check the council website for current opening hours.
